Putin to Meet UAE President in Russia to Discuss Bilateral Ties

(MENAFN) Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to meet UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Russia on January 29 to discuss bilateral relations, according to a statement from the Kremlin’s media service.

The leaders are also expected to address developments in the Middle East and other international issues.

The announcement comes after Russia and Ukraine conducted two days of US-mediated consultations in Abu Dhabi last week aimed at ending the conflict that began in February 2022.

The US described the initial talks as “constructive.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the next round of US-mediated peace talks is planned for next week, again in Abu Dhabi.
